Dendrobium spectabile .

This is one of the most bizarre of the Latourea species , which come mostly from higher altitudes in New Guinea. This one may also grow a little warmer than the other species in this section. The flowers are oddly twisted and sculpted.

Dendrobium crepidiferum.
$35

When this spectacular species appeared in collections a few years ago it was promptly described as a new species (Den. sulawesiense). However, other taxonomists have opined that it is the much earlier described Den. glomeratum or Den. crepidiferum described by the dutch botanist J.J.Smith. We are no taxonomists and therefore stick with the crepidiferum name as a matter of national pride.

Dendrobium nov. hybr. (Den. chrysopterum x Den. cuthbersonii 'Lafayette'}

$35

Dendrobium chrysopterum was known for a long time as a large form of Den. obtusisepalum. Taxonomists now recognize it as a species in its own right. Beautiful and large two tone (orange and yellow "candy corn") flowers combine with similarly colored flowers of Den. cuthbersonii 'Lafayette'.
